In memory of Lorin Maazel The first concert of MSO of Athens will be presented on November 10th, at the Theater of the Orchestra's Concert House, Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. The program will be dedicated to the memory of the great conductor Lorin Maazel and it includes music works indicative of his exquisite music approach, especially through his collaboration with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, like the Beethoven, Overture Egmont, Op. 84 and the Dvořák, Symphony No 9 in E minor, "From the New World", Op. 95. The program includes also the great Beethoven's Piano Concerto (No 4 in G major, Op. 58), performed by Vassilis Tsabropoulos as a soloist. Tsabropoulos had the opportunity to perform this concerto in the past, with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, winning warm reviews for his outstanding interpretive performance.
